2017 gegründet, hat sich das Animation Is Film Festival inzwischen zu einer echten Institution entwickelt. Jedes Jahr im Oktober laden die Verantwortlichen dazu, nach Los Angeles zu kommen und dort die neuesten Animationstitel aus aller Welt kennenzulernen. Jetzt ist es wieder so weit, vom 18. bis 20. Oktober steht eine weitere Ausgabe an, die mit einigen äußerst festivalerfahrenen Filmen lockt. So gibt es zum Auftakt den Anime The Colors Within, bei dem eine Jugendliche die Farben anderer sehen kann. Fan fernöstlicher Animationskunst haben zudem die Chance, das charmante Fantasyabenteuer Ghost Cat Anzu sowie den rasanten Klassiker Redline zu sehen. Zum Pflichtprogramm gehören auch der tierische Survivaltrip Flow sowie das herzzerreißende Geschwister-Stop-Motion-Porträt Memoir of a Snail.
Das Festival ist aber auch ein guter Anlass, um einige der Regie-Größen hinter diesen Filmen zu treffen. So sind Filmmakers Masterclasses zu den Hits Alles steht Kopf 2, Transformers One und Der wilde Roboter geplant. Dazu gibt es einen Ausblick auf das kommende Disney-Highlight Vaiana 2.

Founded in 2017, the Animation Is Film Festival has become an annual event for animation lovers. Every October, the team invites you to come to Los Angeles and get to know the latest animated titles from all over the world. Now it’s that time again, from October 18th to 20th there’s another edition that will feature several festival-proven films. The opening film is the anime The Colors Within, in which a young person can see the colors of others. Fans of Far Eastern animation also have the chance to see the charming fantasy adventure Ghost Cat Anzu and the fast-paced classic Redline. The must-see program further includes the animal survival trip Flow and the heartbreaking sibling stop-motion portrait Memoir of a Snail.
The festival is also a good opportunity to meet some well-known directors. This year there will be Filmmakers Masterclasses for the hits Inside Out 2, Transformers One und The Wild Robot. Plus you’ll get to see some footage for the upcoming Disney highlight Moana 2.
